Federated Hermes’ Karen Sands named as Corvus Group NED
Corvus Group, the start-up fund administrator, has appointed Federated Hermes’ Karen Sands as a non-executive director.
Sands (pictured) is the chief operating officer of Federated Hermes’ private equity business.
Corvus Group said she brings a wealth of fund operations and accounting experience to the firm, advising the board on matters of corporate strategy, governance and the optimisation of systems and processes to maximise client delivery through the provision of a quality service.

“Karen’s appointment is a significant step forward for the group,” said Corvus co-founder James McCarthy.
“With a wealth of experience in fund operations and accounting, Karen will provide the board with an invaluable insight into the challenges faced by fund COOs and CFOs and the expectations of fund LPs, which in turn will help us to optimise our services and systems to better address our clients’ needs”.

Corvus Group launched in 2019 to provide administrative and advisory support services to the private equity, venture capital and asset management industries.
“I have known [founders] James and Andrew [Brizell] personally for a number of years and worked closely with Corvus Advisory between early 2020 and mid-2021,” said Sands.
“I know that James and Andrew have been looking to launch a fund administration business for some time, so it’s great to see them bring Corvus Administration to the market. I’m excited to be working with them again and look forward to helping them and Dave realise their vision for a truly modern, advisory-led and technology enabled administrative solution”.
