PeerBerry onboards new lender
PeerBerry has onboarded a new lender to its platform, offering target returns of 10 per cent per annum.
The European peer-to-peer lending marketplace has announced that Spain-based short-term consumer lender Smartcredito has joined the platform, although its loans will only be available three days a week.
Smartcredito is a short-term lender which launched at the beginning of May 2023 by PeerBerry affiliate Aventus Group.
It offers consumer loans up to the value of €1,000 (£866) for up to 30 days. PeerBerry investors will be able to invest in these loans on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, with target returns of 10 per cent per year.

All loans provided by Smartcredito to PeerBerry investors include a buyback and a group guarantee.
Since it launched, Smartcredito has built a portfolio valued at more than €250,000. It has 15 employees at its Malaga base.
PeerBerry recently revealed that it had passed €2bn of funded loans to date, after a record August when investors channelled €75.36m into the platform.
The marketplace lists loans from a variety of European loan originators, offering returns of up to 12 per cent, depending on the type of loan chosen.
