Morgan Stanley has launched a private markets European long-term investment fund (ELTIF), which will be managed by Portfolio Solutions Group and will allocate across the middle market in Europe, the US and Asia.
The ELTIF offers investors exposure to private equity, private credit, real assets and select public investments globally. It will seek to partner with third-party managers to access high-conviction co-investments and allocate to global themes such as digitisation and sustainability.

“With this launch, we’re expanding investor choice by providing a unique combination of private market assets through a thematic investment approach designed to capture mega-trends that can typically drive long-term performance,” said Federico Vettore, head of European private markets for wealth at Morgan Stanley Investment Management.
The fund will be actively managed and semi-liquid, operating under the ELTIF 2.0 framework. This regulation was designed to make the funds more flexible and easier to distribute to both retail and professional investors, changing key features such as allowing a broader range of assets, including private credit and lowering investment minimums.
