Federated Hermes expands real estate debt team
Federated Hermes has appointed Dinesh Gautam as associate director in the firm’s real estate debt team.
Gautam will report into Paul Robinson, who joined as director of origination and structuring in early 2024.
Gautam joins from Bank J. Safra Sarasin, where he was responsible for the underwriting, execution, and restructuring of senior debt mandates secured against commercial real estate assets for high-net-worth families and UK corporations.

He has built a broad skill set developed across several firms, with a focus on deal structuring, execution, and portfolio management of senior and mezzanine real estate development and investment loans.
The Federated Hermes private credit division has more than $2bn (£1.5bn) of assets under management.
The firm’s real estate debt business was launched in 2015. It says it seeks to deliver stable, uncorrelated, through-the-cycle returns from sustainable real estate assets, with a relative value approach to selecting opportunities, underpinned by an asset-focused and conservative underwriting.

Gautam added: “I’m pleased to be joining the team as we identify valuable opportunities in the real estate debt market for our clients. Federated Hermes’ unique approach to originating attractive investment opportunities and prudent underwriting has enabled it to create a market leading platform which I look forward to building on.”
