CrowdProperty hires lending director
Peer-to-peer property lender CrowdProperty has hired Richard Payne as its new lending director.
Payne was previously lending director at Hampshire Trust Bank. He has more than 35 years of industry experience, and has previously worked at Deutsche Bank, Oblix Capital and BLME.
In his new role at CrowdProperty, Payne will be responsible for overseeing the case management team.
“Richard is well known and highly regarded in the sector, having managed lending teams and provided stretched debt for property developments at a number of key players,” said Damon Walford, chief commercial officer at CrowdProperty.

“His technical expertise combined with a solutions-focused, personable approach makes him a great addition to the CrowdProperty team as we continue our ambitious growth plans.”
Payne added: “CrowdProperty has grown rapidly whilst maintaining an exceptional performance track record and reputation in the market.
“I am looking forward to getting to know the team, driving growth and contributing to the exciting opportunities ahead as the business continues to expand.”
Payne’s appointment is just the latest senior hire that the property lender has made in the past few months. In October, CrowdProperty hired Andreas Yianni as head of business development for London and the South. And in September, the platform appointed quantity surveyor Martin Bray as an associate to lead its team of surveyors.
