Assetz Capital adds Chris Causton to origination team
Peer-to-peer lending platform Assetz Capital has added finance professional Chris Causton to its origination team in the South East.
Causton, who is based in South London, joins from Handelsbanken where he spent the past five years as corporate banking manager.
This followed various roles at NatWest Royal Bank of Scotland dating back to 2008 and a personal banking role at Barclays.
Causton’s role at Assetz will utilise his property lending experience and relationship management to find the best finance solution for brokers and borrowers in the Southeast and Greater London areas.

“Chris’s experience in property and commercial banking makes him an ideal fit for the role,” Andrew Charnley, managing director at Assetz Capital, said. “Chris is very well equipped to deliver optimum solutions for property development and investment.
“Utilizing his broad corporate experience, he will provide just the right support on owner occupied commercial property.
“We have ambitious growth plans for the next few years, and Chris makes a welcome and timely addition to an incredibly professional and experienced team of relationship directors located right across the UK.”
Commenting on his appointment, Causton said: “I am delighted to be joining Assetz at a key time, their growth ambition has really impressed me, and given that they are on the way to lending £2bn I’m really looking forward to contributing towards that. I can’t wait to see how I can help my broker relationships grow their business with the broad palette of funding solutions I now have to work with.”
Causton joins Assetz Capital during a hiring spree. Yesterday the firm announced the addition of Sinead Moynihan as relationship director.
In September David Hehir joined its origination team in the West Midlands, while Simon Quin joined the Scotland team. This followed the appointment of Andrew Charnley as managing director and Irene Thomas as director of lending operations in June.
