Assetz boosts West Midlands team with new hire
Assetz Capital has hired David Hehir to join its origination team in the West Midlands.
The UK’s largest peer-to-peer lending platform said that Hehir joins from Allied Irish Bank (AIB) where he spent the last nine years growing the Birmingham branch into the bank’s largest centre in the UK.
He has previous experience in property investment, development, healthcare, leisure, and hotels, Assetz Capital said, having spent almost 20 years in a variety of management roles across Scotland, Wales, Southern England, and the Midlands.

“I’m really pleased to be joining Assetz Capital at what is an important time for the business,” said Hehir. “We share a similar growth ethos, and I have admired their approach for some time, I can’t wait to get started.”
Neil Roper, Assetz Capital’s regional director for the UK Midlands added: “David’s experience and connections across the West Midlands, and hunger for deal making, made him an ideal candidate to spearhead our ambitions in the region and further afield…he embodies what we look for when it comes to growing the team and is a great addition.”
Hehir’s appointment follows a raft of recent hires, as Assetz Capital rolls out its ambitious growth plans.
Earlier this month, the firm hired Simon Quin to join its Scotland team. This followed the appointment of Andrew Charnley as managing director and Irene Thomas as director of lending operations in June.
