Barings hires global head of ABF
Barings has appointed Sloan Sutta as global head of asset-based finance (ABF), putting him in charge of the firm’s $60bn (£45.4bn) platform.
The $502bn alternative asset manager’s ABF platform spans public and private markets across commercial, consumer and residential strategies. Sutta will oversee the platform’s strategic direction and expand its investment capabilities, Barings said.
The platform has 65 investment professionals globally, and Barings has been active in the market for 40 years, the firm added.

“Sloan brings deep experience across ABF markets and a strong track record of building and expanding investment platforms.
“His leadership will be instrumental as we continue to strengthen our capabilities and position the business for its next phase of growth.”
