Hercules closes $2.3bn of capital for private credit
Hercules Capital’s investment adviser has raised $2.3bn (£1.7bn) of investable capital following the closing of two private credit vehicles.
Hercules Adviser, the registered investment adviser to Hercules Capital, recently closed two institutional private credit vehicles: the Hercules Evergreen Fund, a perpetual, open-end fund, and Hercules Growth Lending IV, a closed-end platform.
The firm also closed a rated securitisation, with all three vehicles receiving commitments from global institutional investors, including insurance companies, pension funds, asset managers, foundations and endowments, as well as family offices, Hercules said.
“Our new perpetual, open-end vehicle offers allocators a permanent capital avenue to invest alongside Hercules and our closed-end vehicles in financing the most innovative growth-stage technology and life sciences companies in the world,” said Scott Bluestein, chief executive and chief investment officer of Hercules.
Headquartered in San Mateo, California, Hercules Capital is a speciality finance lender and, together with Hercules Adviser, manages approximately $6.1bn in assets.
Since its inception in 2003, Hercules Capital, directly and through investment funds managed by Hercules Adviser, has committed more than $28bn, the firm added.
