Alternative asset manager Arini has appointed Ben Kunstler as head of hybrid capital within its private credit team.

Kunstler will serve on Arini’s private credit investment committees, with his appointment reflecting the growth of the manager’s team and private capital platform, the firm said.

He joins Arini from Bain Capital, where he spent 18 years as a partner in the Europe private equity team.

“The current market environment presents a unique opportunity for Arini to continue providing flexible, long-term credit-oriented solutions to companies,” said Hamza Lemssouguer, founder and chief investment officer at Arini.

“Ben brings a private equity investor’s perspective to Arini’s credit investing capabilities, which is highly complementary to Arini’s converged investment platform across public and private credit strategies, grounded in fundamental sector-focused research.”

Founded in 2021, Arini has strategies across public and private credit and manages more than $20bn (£14.8bn) in assets.

“The addition of Ben to our team extends our private capital capabilities and builds on Arini’s ability to provide a complete set of solutions for founder-led, family-owned and sponsor-owned businesses,” added Mathew Cestar, president at Arini.
