Colbeck Capital rolls out $400m middle-market direct lending strategy
Private credit firm Colbeck Capital Management has launched a new direct lending strategy with $400m (£303.8m) of initial capital commitments.
The strategy, Colbeck Strategic Income (CSI), will focus primarily on first-lien senior secured loans to middle-market companies entering their “next stage transition”.
CSI has already made six investments, supported by both existing and new investors of Colbeck, the firm said.

The launch comes alongside Colbeck’s flagship Colbeck Strategic Lending (CSL) strategy, which has more than $1.7bn in invested and committed capital, the manager said.
Colbeck’s third fund within its CSL series closed in December 2024 at more than 40 per cent above its fundraising target, the firm added.

“Over the years, as alternative markets have matured and our sourcing capabilities have deepened, we have seen a growing pipeline of high-quality opportunities in larger, more established middle-market companies that offer an attractive risk-adjusted profile,” said Jason Colodne and Jason Beckman, co-founders and managing partners of Colbeck. “While we remain a focused, single-strategy firm, we believe having two complementary verticals – CSL and CSI – provides attractive investment optionality and diversification amidst a dynamic market backdrop.”
Headquartered in New York, overall, Colbeck has invested more than $5bn since its inception.
