Fiera Capital deepens Japanese private markets presence
Fiera Capital has hired Chinatsu Aoyama as director, private markets specialist, as the firm strengthens its alternatives platform in Japan.
Based in Fiera Capital Asia’s Tokyo office, Aoyama will be responsible for distributing the global asset manager’s full range of private markets strategies to Japanese investors.
Aoyama was formerly a director at Singapore-based private equity firm HQ Capital, where she was responsible for business development for institutional and private investors in Japan. Prior to that, she held roles in business development and investments at Squadron Capital.

The appointment comes as Fiera increases its presence in Japan following the opening of its Tokyo office in October 2025. The firm has also expanded its global footprint with recent office openings in Abu Dhabi, Zurich, Madrid and The Hague.

In May 2025, the $120bn (£89.5bn) global asset manager hired former Nomura Asset Management executive Takafumi Sudo as chief operating officer and chief compliance officer, Japan, Fiera Capital Asia.

Fiera Capital’s private markets platform manages approximately $15bn in assets under management across 20 strategies globally, spanning real estate debt and equity, natural capital, infrastructure, private credit and private equity.
