Julius Baer appoints head of private markets investments
Private bank Julius Baer has appointed Viktoras Vatinas as head of private markets investments, based in Zurich.
Vatinas will lead the investment team at Julius Baer and oversee sourcing, identification, due diligence, and selection of high-quality investment opportunities and private markets.
Vatinas was previously a senior portfolio manager for private debt at Baloise Asset Management. He joined Julius Baer on 1 November.

At Baloise Asset Management, Vatinas was responsible for the launch and management of Corporate Direct Lending Fund. A fund with a focus on European mid-market direct loans built in an evergreen format.
Prior to that he was private debt portfolio manager at Partners Group between January 2016 and September 2021.
He will report directly to Claudia Petersen who joined Julius Baer as head of private markets in March.

This includes the current offer which consists of feeder funds, fund-of-funds and custom mandates across the various private markets sub-segments with significant focus on private equity.
In the summer Julius Baer appointed Goldman Sach partner Stefan Bollinger as chief executive officer. He is expected to take up the new position no later than 1 February 2025.
