Law firm Paul Hastings hires restructuring & private credit team
Law firm Paul Hastings has hired a team of restructuring, private credit and special situations lawyers to boost its capabilities at a time when the asset class is coming under the spotlight.
The team joins from King & Spalding across New York, Chicago, Houston and Washington DC. It includes Jennifer Daly, who was co-head of the global finance and restructuring practice, as well as Roger Schwartz, Matthew Warren, Christopher Boies, Zachary Cochran, Peter Montoni, Geoffrey King, Lindsey Henrikson, and Robert Nussbaum.

“We are incredibly excited about building on our premier restructuring and finance platforms with the addition of one of the leading private credit and special situation groups in the US,” said Frank Lopez, chair of Paul Hastings.
The team specialises across a number of areas, including business development companies, direct lending transactions, restructuring and special situations matters , Chapter 11 proceedings and distressed acquisitions.

Paul Hastings has been on a recruitment drive, previously hiring an 18-strong financial restructuring team from Stroock & Stroock & Lavan, and bringing on partners Will Needham and Helena Potts in London from KKR and Shearman & Sterling, respectively.
This year, the law firm has worked on the take-private of Squarespace by Blue Owl, Blackstone and Ares, as well as the acquisition of Darktrace’s by Thoma Bravo, advising Goldman Sachs.
