Phoenix Group hires new head of private markets
Phoenix Group has named former UBS executive Cecile Retaureau as its new head of private markets.
The retirement and savings group has now expanded its private market team to 16 investment professionals across corporate credit, private equity, real estate, infrastructure, and public finance.
Retaureau will lead in-house originations and will work with Phoenix’s asset management partners to deliver private market assets which are a good fit for the business.

She has more than 20 years experience in the financial services sector, and previously worked as managing director, global head of cross-asset financing and fixed income solutions sales at UBS. In this role, she managed more than 30 investment banking professionals and 400 clients globally.
Before joining UBS, she held senior global markets roles at BNP Paribas and Credit Agricole.

Retaureau will officially join Phoenix Group in August 2024, and will report to Nuwan Goonetilleke, head of shareholder assets.
