Ambienta holds first close of €500m credit fund
European environmental sustainability investor Ambienta has announced the first closing of its new credit fund, which has a target value of €500m (£428m).
The Ambienta sustainable credit opportunities fund – also known as Ambienta Credit – has already reached half of this initial target, thank to commitments from a number of European and US-based institutional investors.
The fund will follow Ambienta’s overall strategy of investing in mid-market companies whose products or services work to reduce pollution or improve resource efficiency.

“We are excited that Ambienta Credit will complement our existing platform, providing an opportunity to partner with even more sustainability champions, who are looking to finance growth and identify credit solutions.”

Laurent Donin de Rosière, partner and head of investor relations and strategic partnerships at Ambienta, said that the new fund already has a strong pipeline of investors.
“We are thrilled to have reached this important milestone in our journey,” he said.
“We continue to have a very strong pipeline of LPs and are grateful for the strong support and confidence from Ambienta’s existing as well as new investors.
“In the current market environment, the importance of private credit is clearly indisputable. Combined with the increasing importance for investors to identify authentic sustainability investment solutions, Ambienta Credit provides a unique proposition and an exceptionally well positioned product to deliver both partnerships for entrepreneurs and investment opportunities for LPs.”
