CapitalRise chief commended on annual Women in FinTech Powerlist
CapitalRise chief executive Uma Rajah (pictured) is among the senior leaders featured on Innovate Finance’s annual Women in FinTech Powerlist.
She has had a busy year at the helm of the peer-to-peer property investment platform, which surpassed various records in October 2022, including processing deals that equated to more than £50m in a single week.
The business also achieved a record-breaking week for completions in October, with three completions in a week, totalling £21.5m of loan origination.
Rajah also featured on Innovate Finance’s Women in Fintech Powerlist 2021.

“Senior leaders truly driving forward change within the fintech space, above and beyond their day-to-day role,” said Innovate Finance. “They have excelled in their career, but are also passionate about helping others make progress in theirs – through mentoring, setting up support groups to share experiences or voluntary work.”
Lisa Jacobs, chief executive of former P2P lender Funding Circle, and Lucy Vernall, company secretary, general counsel and chief people officer at the company, also made the ‘senior leaders’ section of the list.
Funding Circle product manager Valerie Kontor was commended under ‘rising stars’ and engineer Emma Phillips under ‘technology professionals’.
Helen Beurier, chief people officer at another former P2P firm, Zopa, made the ‘professional and financial services’ section of the list, while Augmentum Fintech’s Georgie Hazell Kivell is included in the ‘investors’ section. She is director of marketing and operations at the fintech-focused investment fund, which is an investor in Zopa.
“Professional and financial service professionals that are championing fintech within their respective teams,” said Innovate Finance. “They are the inhouse specialist, the go-to for the latest in fintech trends and an influential voice on sector innovations and diversity in finance.”
Back in November, Innovate Finance called for nominations for the Women in FinTech Powerlist, and received nearly 1,000 responses.
