Janine Hirt hails “inspiring” P2P awards
Janine Hirt, chief executive of Innovate Finance, has praised the “inspiring changemakers” who will be honoured in the upcoming Peer2Peer Finance Awards.
Hirt (pictured) is a member of the judging panel and will help whittle down the shortlists of each category after the nomination period closes on 21 September.
She told Peer2Peer Finance News that this is the right time to celebrate peer-to-peer lending, and “to commend all these inspiring changemakers”.
“The global economic landscape has undoubtedly suffered over the past few years through the hardships of Covid-19, the war in Ukraine, and now, the cost of living crisis,” she said.
“In response to this, the fintech industry has only increased its efforts and focus on making financial services work better for individuals and small- and medium-sized enterprises, to create a fairer and more inclusive financial services system.
“P2P lending is an important segment of UK fintech that has developed and opened access between lenders and businesses and individuals.
“These awards are a great opportunity to showcase and celebrate the achievements of the fintech industry, with an emphasis on P2P lending and open banking.”
