FCA recruits members for new ESG committee
The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) is seeking stakeholders to join a new committee which focuses on environmental, social and governance (ESG) issues.
The new ESG Advisory Committee will provide guidance to the FCA board on emerging ESG topics and issues; how to execute its oversight of ESG issues; and how to develop its ESG strategy.
The committee will be made up of “a small number of external experts who have an in depth knowledge of ESG issues in the financial sector,” the FCA said.
However, membership will not be open to any individuals who are currently employed by an FCA-regulated firm.
