Crowdcube co-founder named executive chairman of Plend
Luke Lang, co-founder and former chief marketing officer at Crowdcube, has accepted a new role as executive chairman at soon-to-launch peer-to-peer platform Plend.
Lang (pictured, middle) left Crowdcube in June 2021 and initially joined Plend as a non-executive chairman.
He has now accepted a new position as executive chairman, where he will take a more hands-on role to develop the Plend brand and business strategy ahead of a planned launch next year.
“It’s with great pleasure that we’d like to announce that Luke Lang has accepted a new role with Plend as our executive chairman,” said Robert Pasco (pictured, right), chief executive and co-founder of Plend.

“Initially coming on as a non-executive chairman and investor to guide us, the synergy between our team and Luke has been outstanding and it was a no brainer for us to work together in a more involved way.
“Luke will be transitioning to a more hands-on executive role to not only help bring our go-to-market strategy to life, but further develop our brand and business strategy alongside the wider senior leadership team.”
Lang added that he was “very excited to be rolling my sleeves and getting more involved with Plend to create a more financially inclusive world where everyone has the chance for a brighter future.”

“Coming from Crowdcube with a similar purpose and potential to make a huge difference in people’s lives, I knew when I met (Plend co-founders) Robert and James that their mission was incredibly impactful,” Lang said.
“There is a clear opportunity in the market with the rise of open banking technology, and I couldn’t be more excited to help the team provide affordable credit to the masses, and enable more people to achieve their goals.”
Plend is awaiting final regulatory sign off ahead of a planned launch in 2022. It is a consumer P2P lending platform, which uses an innovative credit checking system to connect borrowers and lenders.
