HarbourVest hires MD & head of infrastructure distribution
HarbourVest Partners has hired Peter Larsen as managing director and head of infrastructure distribution from Hamilton Lane, where he was managing director, real assets.
The global private markets asset manager said the appointment reflected the growth of its infrastructure platform as investors seek to diversify their private markets portfolios with non-correlated offerings.

HarbourVest established its infrastructure platform in 2015 with closed-end and evergreen funds across primaries, secondaries, and co-investment vehicles.
In his new role, Larsen will serve as the “bridge” between the infrastructure investment team and HarbourVest’s global investor relations organisation, helping to drive strategy, strengthen relationships with investors and consultants, and identify growth opportunities in the sector.
At Hamilton Lane, where he spent more than 17 years, Larsen led capital formation across infrastructure and real estate in closed-end and evergreen strategies.
He also previously served as a partner at Atlantic-Pacific Capital, where he led fundraising and sales strategy for several years.

“Investors are increasingly looking for diversified infrastructure exposure across strategies, sectors and geographies. This asset class has a low correlation to other private markets strategies and can provide tremendous diversification potential,” said Tim Flower, managing director and head of infrastructure at HarbourVest.
“Peter’s experience on both sides of the table, as an investor and a capital raiser, gives him exceptional perspective when it comes to helping clients build resilient, long-term exposure.”
Last month, HarbourVest appointed Tony Ranaldi as managing director of evergreen portfolio management, responsible for leading portfolio management for the firm’s private credit evergreen strategy.
