Timah secures debt facility to accelerate Singapore acquisitions
Singapore-based Timah Partners has secured a S$60m (£35m) debt facility to support its acquisition strategy in the country.
Timah acquires and operates B2B businesses facing succession challenges in Southeast Asia, with the aim of providing continuity and long-term ownership.
The lending partners supporting the debt facility include UOB, RHB Bank, and Genesis Alternative Ventures. Meanwhile, Kroll Agency and Trustee Services will act as the facility and security agent.

For SME owners, the facility should translate into a clearer process, faster timeline, and comfort in knowing who the financing partners are.
“Succession is a big life decision for a founder,” said Dennis Chua, Timah’s founder and chief executive. “It’s not just about price. What founders prefer is clarity, a straightforward and simple process, partners they can trust and are proud to be associated with, and confidence that their business and people will be taken care of.”

The firm focuses on cash-flowing SMEs that are often asset-light. “Being able to finance these types of businesses reliably gives Timah a real advantage in delivering on our mission for SME succession in Singapore,” added Chua.
Serena Hong, head of commercial banking at RHB Bank, said: “We are pleased to support this innovative facility alongside like-minded financing partners, as it will help strengthen the next chapter of growth for high-quality local enterprises and reinforce the long-term resilience of Singapore’s SME ecosystem.”

Over time, Timah expects the relationship with its lending partners to extend beyond acquisitions and into wider financing and banking support across its portfolio, including founder wealth-planning needs, as these businesses continue to professionalise and grow.
