Chicago-headquartered Monroe Capital has appointed Alexandra Artes-Roy as a director on its direct originations team, as its direct originations platform continues to grow.
Artes-Roy, who joins from KKR, will originate new business opportunities within the West Coast region and will be based in Monroe Capital’s Los Angeles office.
As a principal at KKR, she worked across its US and Asia private credit teams, with a focus on originating and underwriting private debt and capital markets solutions for financial sponsors and corporate clients.

Prior to this, Artes-Roy was an associate at Barings, where she worked on the global high yield and Asia private credit teams.
Alex Patil, partner and Southern California region group head, cited Artes-Roy’s “extensive” private credit experience, “strong” sponsor relationships, and track record of delivering tailored financing solutions.
“Alexandra’s expertise and market insight will further enhance our ability to serve sponsors and middle-market companies across the West Coast while continuing to grow our leading direct originations platform,” Patil added.
The firm, which oversees more than $24bn (£17.9bn) in assets, specialises in strategies spanning direct lending, technology finance, venture debt, alternative credit solutions, structured credit, real estate and equity.
In May, Monroe Capital completed its fourth collateralised loan obligation deal in 12 months, with the $426.6m close of Monroe Capital MML CLO XVIII.
At the start of the year, the firm closed its fifth private credit fund at $6.1bn, making it Monroe’s largest private credit vehicle at the time of the close in January.
