Gemcorp Capital has appointed Miles Hunt as head of structured credit as the firm launches a franchise in the space.
Hunt will be based in the firm’s London office. He joins the firm to launch Gemcorp Capital’s structured credit platform, which will offer investors instruments within emerging markets private credit.
Emerging markets investment manager Gemcorp stated that the expansion of the business comes as investors increasingly seek solutions within the structured credit space.

“Our new structured credit franchise will broaden access to the benefits of emerging market credit to a wider range of investors who may previously have been unable to access these opportunities due to regulatory constraints,” said Selim Basak, co-founder and head of origination, to whom Hunt will report. “Miles’ deep expertise and experience will be instrumental in helping us achieve this.”
Prior to joining Gemcorp, Hunt held senior roles at NatWest Markets, where he was global head of syndicate, and before that at RBS, JP Morgan and Citigroup.

“It is an exciting time to join Gemcorp Capital and launch this new franchise at the firm,” said Hunt. “Structured credit has grown significantly over the last decade, yet emerging markets remain underpenetrated despite strong investor demand for solutions that can help meet their investment objectives.”
