Banh has spent the past 11 years as head of legal and compliance, and chief operating officer of Fidante’s UK office, with responsibility for the development of the UK and EU international arms of the Fidante multi-affiliate business.
Prior to this, he was head of legal and compliance at Ellerston Capital in Australia, and has also previously worked at UK-based Simmons & Simmons and Australia-based Minter Ellison.
The strategic partnership in October 2025 saw global investment management firm Fidante acquire a minority stake in Fulcrum, gaining exclusive distribution rights for Fulcrum’s products across Australia, New Zealand and Asia.
Fidante is part of Challenger Limited, an ASX-listed investment management company.
“We are delighted to welcome Richard as general counsel. His deep expertise and long experience with our strategic partner Fidante will be instrumental in supporting the firm’s continued growth in an increasingly complex regulatory environment,” said Davidson.
“Having worked closely with the Fulcrum team over the past year, I am excited about the opportunity to contribute and to help Fulcrum achieve great things in the years ahead,” said Banh.
Fulcrum, founded in 2004, manages more than £7bn in assets and specialises in discretionary strategies, alternative solutions and quantitative strategies.
