Granite Harbor Capital launches first US private markets opps fund
Granite Harbor Capital has launched a private markets opportunity fund offering investors access to private equity, real estate and private credit.
The launch of the Mariner Fund I marks the US-based firm’s first foray into differentiated private markets, Granite Harbor Capital said. The business is the alternative investments arm of Granite Harbor Companies.
The fund will provide exposure to lower mid-market operating companies, value-add real estate and select private credit opportunities. It is focused on the central US, a region that Derek Taylor, Granite Harbor Capital managing partner and Mariner Fund I lead, said offers “significant untapped opportunity”.

“There are a lot of operating companies in that $2 to $7m (£1.5m to £5.2m) EBITDA range that are overlooked because they’re ‘too small’ for coastal capital, but the growth potential is significant in industry sectors like differentiated manufacturing, infrastructure support, and distribution,” he said.
Mariner Fund I is open exclusively to qualified investors, Granite Harbor Capital said, giving those access to off-market, co-general partner and co-investment opportunities.

“Clients are demanding better access, clearer oversight, and more strategic integration of private markets into their broader wealth plans,” said Brian Sak, managing partner at Granite Harbor. “Mariner Fund I reflects our commitment not only to sourcing compelling private opportunities, but to bringing the governance, transparency, and alignment that investors expect from an registered investment adviser-led platform.”
