Fortress hires USS’s Rob Brindley to boost UK pensions relationships
Fortress Investment Group has appointed Rob Brindley (pictured) as managing director in its European client product and solutions group.
In his new role, he will oversee relationships and fundraising with pensions and consultants across the UK. He will be based in London and report to Rob Reynolds, head of European institutional business development.
Brindley joins from the Universities Superannuation Scheme (USS), the UK’s largest private pension scheme, where he was an investment director responsible for origination, execution, and asset management of private credit assets, including managing fund and co-investment relationships.

Prior to USS, he was UK head of strategic asset finance at Commerzbank.
“Rob’s deep understanding of the UK pension landscape – gained from his experience within the country’s largest private pension scheme – and his expertise in private credit and real estate markets will be invaluable as we expand our relationships with institutional investors across the UK and Europe,” said Reynolds.

Fortress has $53bn (£39.3bn) of assets under management across credit and real estate, private equity and permanent capital investment strategies.
The investment manager raised around $11bn last year, its most successful fundraising year to date, including $1bn raised through its wealth business.
In April 2025, Fortress and Mubadala Investment Company announced a $1bn strategic partnership focused on credit and special situations co-investment opportunities.
