ICG hires Oaktree’s Richard Young to lead UK institutional business
ICG has appointed Oaktree Capital Management’s Richard Young as managing director of its client solutions group, with responsibility for the firm’s UK institutional clients.
According to a post on LinkedIn, Young has already started his new role, which is based in London. He will report into Bashak-Julianna Demir, European head of the client solutions group, and will be responsible for the alternative asset manager’s UK institutional clients.

He joins after a six-and-a-half-year tenure at Oaktree, most recently having held the role of managing director and head of UK institutional capital raising.
At Oaktree, he was responsible for initiating new client relationships and providing investment solutions to institutional clients across the UK and Ireland, with a focus on LGPS, family offices, corporate defined benefit and defined contribution pension schemes, and insurance companies.
Prior to this, he was vice president at T Rowe Price, where he worked in various client relationship roles for almost eight years.
