Schroders Capital Solutions hires CIO
Schroders Capital has appointed Vikram Bhandari to the newly-created role of head and chief investment officer of Schroders Capital Solutions.
Bhandari will lead Schroders Capital’s private markets solutions strategy and execution, while helping to drive business growth at the $97.3bn (£77bn) private markets business of Schroders.
He will be based in London and will report to Ingo Heinen, Schroders Capital’s global head of business development and product.
Bhandari was previously a senior portfolio manager at BlackRock, where he spent seven years expanding BlackRock’s multi-alternatives private markets solutions business in EMEA. In this role, he worked with multiple client segments including defined benefit and defined contribution pensions, insurance, wealth, sovereigns, family offices and other institutions.

Schroders Capital said that Bhandari’s appointment reflects the firm’s client-centric approach and will further leverage its private markets solutions capabilities on a global scale.
