Oaktree appoints head of EMEA insurance solutions
Oaktree Capital Management has appointed Cyril Martin as managing director and head of EMEA insurance solutions.
Martin will be primarily responsible for developing and managing the insurance client base in EMEA and building insurance analytics globally.
He is based in London and will report to Oaktree managing director and global head of insurance solutions Greg Halagan.

Martin joins Oaktree from Aviva Investors where he served as head of investment solutions and led a team in charge of designing and implementing investment strategies across a broad range of client types, involving accounting, capital, regulatory, and sustainability considerations.
Prior to that, he was a director at PwC where he advised insurance companies with respect to Solvency II and matching adjustment strategies, internal processes, and balance sheet optimisation.

Oaktree had $205bn (£169bn) in assets under management as of September 30, 2024. The firm bills itself as taking “an opportunistic, value-oriented, and risk-controlled approach” to investments in credit, equity, and real estate.
