Petra Funds launches outsourced ESG director service
Petra Funds Group has launched a new outsourcing service to help ESG professionals within the private fund sector.
The offering includes end-to-end support with ESG strategy, due diligence, portfolio monitoring, and regulatory reporting.
Tamara Close has been hired by Petra to lead the new offering from North America. Close has more than 25 years’ experience in ESG strategy across private and public markets. She is a former senior executive at PSP Investments and founder of Close Group Consulting.
“Our growing bench of experienced sustainability professionals has deep expertise across both the US and European LP and regulatory landscape as well as the practical aspects of building out top decile responsible investment programs, all of which is key to providing value to our clients,” said Charlie Chipchase, managing director and head of Europe at Petra.

“Tamara’s experience as a capital allocator and advisor to leading GPs gives her very relevant insight into what LPs look for when it comes to the sustainability characteristics of the funds they invest in.

Petra’s outsourced ESG director service provides private funds with an experienced ESG professional on a fractional basis who can operate as an extension of the firm. It has been designed to work with firms which already have in-house sustainability executives, as well as those without.
