Adams Street appoints global head of wealth
Adams Street Partners has appointed Jim Walker as global head of wealth, as it steps up its efforts to expand its distribution to financial advisers and wealth managers.
The alternative asset manager has also launched a new website to share insights news and resources with the private wealth audience.
Walker has been chief operating officer at Adams Street for nearly seven years since joining the firm after a range of leadership positions at Morgan Stanley, Credit Suisse, and Merrill Lynch.
In his new role he will focus particularly on developing and scaling of products and services for financial advisers and their clients.
He will split his COO responsibilities with chief financial officer Michael Kurlander.

Adams Street runs $59bn (£45.7bn) for clients across private equity, including venture, and private credit investments. The firm joins other alternative asset managers, such as KKR, Carlyle and Ares Management, that have set up dedicated wealth divisions to expand access to private markets and widen their distribution.

Adams Street can provide access, institutional quality origination, and portfolio construction in ways that are accessible to private wealth clients.”
