HeavyFinance chief joins Forbes Business Council
Climate fintech HeavyFinance’s chief executive Laimonas Noreika has become a member of the Forbes Business Council.
Noreika was selected “on the depth and diversity of his experience within the business sector”, a statement on the group’s website said.
The Forbes Business Council is an invitation-only organisation of business owners and leaders.
Noreika founded HeavyFinance in 2020. The Lithuanian fintech operates as a platform connecting farmers with global investors to generate soil carbon credits. It allows investing into agriculture and has so far facilitated investments of more than €50m (£42.5m) in total.

“This membership isn’t just a personal achievement; it’s a testament to HeavyFinance’s innovative approach in marrying finance with environmental sustainability. I’m looking forward to using this platform to further advocate for the critical role of the private sector in achieving global net-zero targets,” Noreika said.
Through HeavyFinance’s initiatives, he is aiming to remove one gigaton of CO2 emissions by 2050.
