Debitum lowers minimum investment threshold
European peer-to-peer lending platform Debitum has lowered its minimum investment threshold, as part of a suite of changes this month.
Debitum, which connects investors with secured business loan opportunities from a variety of originators, said that July has started off “with several good news for existing and new investors.”
The company has lowered its minimum investment from €50 (£42) to €10, effective from 3 July.

It said this means that existing investors can put accumulated monthly returns into action more effectively. “We invite all investors to do so right away and thus increasing the compound annual return rate,” Debitum said.
“For investors who just start to invest in business loans with Debitum, it means that ‘doors are open wider’ to test and try the platform in action.”

Debitum said it had also updated the terms of its ‘invite a friend’ incentive and added more investment options to the platform.
“Investment diversification even within the P2P industry is very important to keep investment portfolio in good health and to minimize risks related to asset performance,” said Henrijs Jansons, chief executive of Debitum.
“Therefore, in a well-balanced portfolio, it’s healthy to have investments in business loans as well as consumer and real estate assets. Debitum for sure is the best place to invest in the small and medium business. We develop the platform to meet our existing and new clients’ needs. Lowering the thresholds is another step towards better cooperation”.
