Conor Gibney named new CEO of Lendermarket
Lendermarket has named Conor Gibney as its new chief executive, taking over from Endrik Eller.
Gibney joined the European peer-to-peer lending platform in 2022 as head of finance. He has more than 12 years experience in the finance and investment management industry, and previously worked for Close Brothers and KPMG.
In his new role as chief executive, Ginbey will oversee Lendermarket’s transition to becoming a regulated crowdfunding service provider under the new EU law. He also revealed that the company is preparing to launch a new platform soon.

“Lendermarket is entering an exciting period,” said Gibney.
“The company is working on the launch of a new platform which will be able to service investors and loan originators better than ever.
“Lendermarket recently submitted its application with the Central Bank of Ireland to become a regulated crowdfunding service provider. Obtaining this licence will give investors and lending partners greater confidence through regulatory oversight.
“We are also bringing multiple new loan originators to the platform over the coming months to give investors a wider range of products to invest in.

Over the past two years Lendermarket has increased its loan portfolio from €9m (£7.7m) to €50m and expanded its team fivefold.
