European P2P investors “optimistic” about economy
Investors in European peer-to-peer lending platform Hive5 are “optimistic” about the current economic situation.
According to a new survey from the P2P lender, 52 per cent of investors feel good about the economy, while just 19 per cent are pessimistic about ongoing global economic instability.
Hive5 noted that in response to ongoing economic threats such as soaring inflation and rising energy prices, 63 per cent of its investors have opted to diversify their investment portfolio.
This trend is more pronounced among high net worth individuals, with 86 per cent increasing the diversification of their investment portfolios.

“It is an indisputable fact that investing on trustworthy P2P platforms could steady investment portfolios in this shaky market,” said Hive5 in a blog post about the survey.
“Therefore, 74 per cent of our customers currently choose P2P as the most suitable investment type. On top of that, despite the cost-of-living crisis, 85 per cent of them plan to invest even more to increase their portfolios soon.”
Hive5 is a Croatia-based P2P lending platform which allows investors to access returns of up to 15 per cent by investing in loan originators.
The platform launched in 2022 and has funded €6.75m (£5.87m) loans to date.
