Ethex returned £2.6m in interest this year
Ethex investors earned £2.6m in repayments over the course of 2022, the peer-to-peer lending platform has revealed.
The lender praised its “hundreds of dedicated investors” for successfully filling 13 investment opportunities this year and raising approximately £6.65m for organisations which promote a positive environmental or social mission.
“We’re incredibly proud of the impact our investors are helping to create,” said an Ethex spokesperson.

“By supporting these businesses, they have removed tonnes of carbon from the atmosphere, created quality, affordable and sustainable homes for people and helped to build stronger communities.”
Some of the projects funded in 2022 include £680,000 to take people off the streets in Edinburgh, and more than £2m to install 2,000 community-owned solar panels in Bristol.
However, Ethex also added that investment volumes were slightly reduced over the past 12 months, as the cost of living crisis began to unfold.
“This year has been a difficult year for many,” said an Ethex spokesperson.

“As lives return to something like normal after the pandemic, the energy and cost of living crises have hit many households hard this year and we have seen this reflected in lower levels of investment in some of the offers we have had on our platform this year.
“But despite the fact that many people are tightening their belts, here at Ethex, we have still seen hundreds of dedicated investors using their money to support some of the extraordinary organisations we have featured, taking real action to tackle climate change and improve lives, and that is something we want to celebrate.”
