Funding Circle sponsors Premiership Rugby
Funding Circle has signed its first ever sports sponsorship deal with Premiership Rugby, citing the league’s alignment with its mission.
The alternative business lender’s sponsorship will be visible across the 2022/23 season, with branding at more than 140 matches, and 50 matches shown live on BT Sport and ITV.
Funding Circle said not only were the rugby clubs the league supports small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) but the fans also cross over with the SME demographic Funding Circle is appealing to.

“We know that a high proportion of SME owners follow rugby, and the Premiership’s fanbase is a good match with the small business owners who look to Funding Circle for business finance”, said Jo Casley, brand director at Funding Circle.
“We’re very excited to build Funding Circle’s brand awareness among this important audience – both the 1.8 million fans who go to a game each season, and the 10 million+ who watch on TV or through digital channels.”

The firm is hoping that by widening out to the rugby audience, it will be able to connect with more businesses.
“Like Premiership Rugby, we are all about helping local communities and businesses thrive, on and off the pitch, said Alexander Allen, UK managing director at Funding Circle. “Our ethos is built around helping small businesses win at what they do – and we aim to bring that experience to everyone involved in Premiership Rugby.”
