Proplend hires ex-Metro Bank MD as board chairman
Proplend has named ex-Metro Bank managing director Jason Oakley as chairman of the board.
Oakley was managing director of Metro Bank from June 2012 to Jun 2015.
He has more than 35 years experience in the financial services sector, and founded specialist digital business and property lender Recognise Bank.
He also founded Acorn to Oaks Financial Services in 2008, a whole of market advisory business based in the West Midlands.

Proplend is a specialist commercial real estate debt and VAT-lending platform, based in the UK.
Since it was founded in 2014, it has funded more than £168m of loans. At the time of writing, average investor returns were 7.26 per cent, per annum.
Oakley praised Proplend’s business, and said that he is “delighted” to join the team.

“They have done a splendid job getting to break even and I hope to support the business further scaling their loan book and capital base.”
