Twino appoints new CEO and risk director
European peer-to-peer lending platform Twino has appointed a new chief executive and risk director.
Former risk director and member of the management board Karīna Caunīte-Orupe has been named chief executive and chairwoman of the management board of Twino.
Meanwhile, Māris Čevers – former head of compliance and risk management – has been appointed as the platform’s new risk director and member of the management board.

Caunīte-Orupe succeeds Anastasija Oļeiņika, who will remain with the company as a member of the supervisory board.
Oļeiņika will replace Nauris Bloks on the board, who has decided to pursue other interests outside Twino.
“This is a thoughtful transition at both the management board and organisational leadership levels and will ensure continued succession and good governance,” said Oļeiņika.
“Karīna and Māris are established leaders who have taken key roles during their time at Twino and we’re confident in their ability as our operations continue to evolve and grow more complex.”

Caunīte-Orupe has been with the P2P lender since it was established in 2015 and has experience in operational management, strategic planning, senior leadership, process and project management, as well as risk management.
“Having worked with Karīna during the past eight years, I know that her vast knowledge of our operations, values, and system, make her the ideal candidate for the position,” said Armands Broks, the sole shareholder and chairman of the supervisory board of Twino.
“She is completely prepared for these new responsibilities, and the management board in its new setup is ready to lead Twino into the next chapter.”
Meanwhile, Čevers has worked in risk management for more than 15 years, at fompanies such as AS Citadele banka, AAS Balta, and Balcia Insurance SE.
In his new role, Čevers will be responsible for ensuring the company’s risk control and compliance function, supervising the internal control system, and coordinating the activities of all structural units of the organisation related to risk management and compliance.
