“I look forward to having the opportunity to work with businesses from across the area,” Mason said. “I am particularly keen to have the chance to help property developers and investors to realise their growth potential.
“My new role will allow me to have much greater flexibility when considering funding requests in comparison to the more traditional lenders.
“At Assetz, I now have the opportunity to offer tailored funding packages to support the ambitions of our customers.”
Mason will work with brokers and intermediaries to provide businesses and property developers with development finance, property investment finance, commercial mortgages and bridging loans, Assetz said.

Mason has 37 years of experience working in the banking sector. He began his career with a 21-year tenure at Barclays and has also worked as a property finance new business director at the Bank of Scotland, the company said.
After that he worked as a property finance broker and most recently was a corporate banker with Swedish bank Handelsbanken.
“[Mason] has spent many years working in the industry, and his experience in the commercial lending space will have a huge impact on our deal origination in the South, supporting customers with specific finance needs through their funding journey,” said Stuart Law, chief executive and founder at Assetz.
