ThinCats hires new South Yorkshire director
THINCATS has added to its expanding workforce by hiring former RBS executive Kevin Steven as its new director of regional business development for South Yorkshire.
Steven (pictured) is a qualified chartered accountant with more than 15 years’ experience in banking and corporate finance.He was previously senior director within RBS’ North of England structured finance team, where he provided small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with advice and access to financing.
He will be based in Sheffield where he will support the potential and growth ambitions of the region’s SMEs.

“More small businesses are turning to lenders like ThinCats who understand their business, build relationships and provide an efficient service,” said Steven. “We are relationship focused and will provide the resources and flexibility required to support successful SMEs with appropriate funding solutions.”
Steven’s arrival marks the latest in a series of high-profile hires for the small business lender, following the appointment of Geraint Regan as director of regional business development in the West Midlands, and funding expert Ben Kimball in the Yorkshire area.

The SME lender recently announced a new £300m funding line in partnership with global asset manager Insight Investment to fund UK SMEs with commercial loans.
Combined with ThinCats’ existing £300m funding stream, the lender now has a potential £600m to fund UK SMEs with loans valued at between £100,000 and £10m.
